Paraguay H1 2023: Chevrolet S10 teases Toyota Hilux for #1, sales down

The Chevrolet S10 just misses out on the overall pole position.

The Paraguayan new vehicle market is down a steep -13.8% year-on-year over the First Half of 2023 to 14,564 units. Toyota stays on top of the brands ranking at 16% share vs. 15.7% over the Full Year 2022. It distances Chevrolet (14.6%) and Kia (12.8%), meaning the podium is unchanged on FY2022. Hyundai (11.7%) and Nissan (5.8%) both step up one spot to #4 and #5 respectively, while Fiat (4.6%) is up three ranks to #6 and Volkswagen down three to #7, going from 11.3% over FY2022 to just 3.6% now. Geely stays at #8 just as Mazda climbs to #9 and Peugeot falls to #10.

Over in the models aisle, the Toyota Hilux (7.6%) dominates again but the Chevrolet S10 (7.3%) is catching up, going from #6 over the Full Year 2022 to #2 now. The Nissan Kicks (4.2%) is also in outstanding shape at #3 with the Hyundai HB20 up one spot to #4. The Kia Seltos (3.5%) is up four ranks to #5 while the Toyota Fortuner is up 6 to #6. The Hyundai Creta surges from outside the FY2022 Top 20 directly to #7, Fiat Strada is up 9 spots to #8 and the Kia Soluto up 11 to #9.
