Bulgaria May 2023: Skoda Octavia #1, Renault Express #3

The Renault Express is on the Bulgarian podium in May.

3,574 new cars found a buyer in Bulgaria in May, leading to a year-to-date tally up 15.3% to 15,763 units. This month Volkswagen takes the lead with 11.7% share vs. 9.3% year-to-date where it is up 68.7%. Toyota is up one spot on April to #2 with 10.5% of the market above Skoda at 10.1%. Renault ranks 4th with 9.9% while the leader of last month Dacia sinks to #5 for May. Kia is up three ranks to #6, distancing Ford, Opel, Mercedes and BMW. Notice also Lexus up to #20 vs. #29 in April.

Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia climbs to the top spot with 5.1% share vs. 3.1% year-to-date where it ranks #3. The Toyota Corolla is #2 like YTD while the Renault Express is up 24 ranks to #3. The Dacia Sandero stays in 4th place and easily holds onto the YTD pole position while the Dacia Jogger is up 11 spots on last month to #5, a new Bulgarian ranking record for the nameplate.
