Kazakhstan March 2023: Exeed and Changan break records in market up 27.8%
Changan is up to #8 in Kazakhstan in March.
New car sales in Kazakhstan are up 27.8% year-on-year in March to 13,682 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 66.7% to 37,283. Hyundai (+16.2%) overtakes Chevrolet (+103.4%) to become the most popular carmaker in the country at 27.5% share vs. 25.7%. Chevrolet however remains #1 year-to-date at 27.7% share vs. 25.4% for Hyundai. Kia (+60.6%) holds 14.9% of the market in third place, meaning the Top 3 brands account for 68.1% share. Chery (+204.3%) is up to a record 4th place, toppling Toyota (-14.9%) in difficulty. Newcomer Exeed breaks all its records: ranking (#6), share (3.7%) and volume (506), as does Changan (#8 with 314 sales and 2.3% share). Lexus (+192.4%), Haval (+66.7%) and JAC (+57.5%) also shine.
Over in the models lane, the Chevrolet Cobalt (+152%) and Hyundai Tucson (+162.5%) retain the top two spots while the Kia Sportage (+1485.1%) shoots up to #3. It distances the Chevrolet Nexia (+488.4%) and Hyundai Santa Fe (+1340.8%) also in surreal shape. The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (+222.2%), Kia Sorento (+217.5%) and Hyundai Elantra (+63.9%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10 unlike the Hyundai Accent (-63.8%) and Sonata (-50.8%) both in freefall.
