Ireland April 2023: Dacia Sandero surprise leader, sales up 13.6%
The Dacia Sandero is the best-selling vehicle in Ireland in April.
New car sales in Ireland continue to lift in April at +13.6% year-on-year to 8,928 units. The year-to-date tally is now up 16% to 67,002. Volkswagen (+25.2%) beats the market to snap the #1 brand spot with 12.8% share vs. 11.1% so far this year. It apples Toyota (+5%) rather shy at 10.7% share vs. 14.1% year-to-date. Kia (+24.4%) advances to #3 ahead of Skoda (+39.6%) just as Dacia (+338.8%) spectacularly scores, and by far, the biggest year-on-year gain in the Top 10 to climb to #5 overall. Opel (+117.4%) and Peugeot (+19.1%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10 while further down Tesla (+1630.8%!), Volvo (+100%), Cupra (+48.3%) and Citroen (+44.8%) stand out.
The Dacia Sandero roars into the models pole position with 4.4% share vs. #12 and 1.8% in the year-to-date charts and vs. #195 in March… The Toyota Corolla (+73.9%) advances one spot on last month to #2 with the VW T-Roc (+3612.5%) shooting up 51 ranks to #3. The Kia Sportage (+21.1%) remains in 4th place ahead of the VW ID.4 (-8.6%) down two spots to #5. The Opel Corsa (+520.5%) and Peugeot 2008 (+500%) also post stellar gains while the Tesla Model Y is down just two ranks on March to #8. The Skoda Octavia (+392.9%), Opel Crossland (+172.3%) and Skoda Enyaq (+388.9%) all surge ahead below.
