Croatia April 2023: Skoda Octavia and Renault Clio top market up 39.6%
The Skoda Octavia is up 9-fold year-on-year in April.
The Croatian new car market continues to surge ahead in April with a 39.6% year-on-year progression to 6,240 sales. This leads to a year-to-date tally up 36.9% to 19,487. Atop the brands charts, Renault (+211.3%) and Skoda (+177.8%) both post sensational gains linked to drab year-ago performances. Renault snaps the year-to-date #1 spot in the process, dislodging Volkswagen (+28.3%) down to #3 for the month. Kia (-4.3%) goes against the positive market but still ranks #4 as it does YTD. Ford (+189.9%), Suzuki (+128.7%) and Audi (+65.2%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Toyota (-0.7%), Dacia (+8.5%) and Opel (+15.8%) fall short.
Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+802.9%) returns to the top spot it held over the Full Year 2022, and this for the first time since October 2022. The Renault Clio (+188.2%) also posts a splendid gain but gets knocked off to #2 by the Octavia. The Clio still ranks #1 year-to-date vs. #9 over the Full Year 2022. The Renault Captur (+315.8%) leaps from outside the March Top 20 directly to #3 and climbs to #8 in the year-to-date charts vs. #15 in FY2022. In fact the entire Top 5 vastly outpaces the market, with the Opel Corsa (+82.3%) and Suzuki Vitara (+113%) also in fine form. The Suzuki S-Cross (+145.2%) and VW T-Roc (+42.5%) also shine below while the Toyota C-HR is up to #13 and the MG ZS is down five spots on last month to #15.
