Slovenia March 2023: Tesla Model Y delivers first win, MG ZS at #5, sales up 13.9%
The Tesla Model Y is the most popular vehicle in Slovenia in March.
New car sales in Slovenia advance 13.9% year-on-year in March to 5,271 units, however March 2022 was off -34.5% on the year prior, so we are still evolving at historically low levels. Year-to-date, volumes are up just 5.5% to 13,450. Volkswagen (+22.8%) and Skoda (+26.8%) both beat the market to retain the top 2 spots in the brands ranking, while Renault (+5.7%), Toyota (-0.9%) and Kia (-6.4%) aren’t that lucky. Tesla (+188%) soars to a record 6th place, also hitting new volume and share all time highs, with its previous bests reached only last month. Dacia (+20.5%) and Opel (+15.9%) are the only two remaining Top 10 members to outpace the overall growth rate.
There’s a big event atop the models ranking: the Tesla Model Y (+376.6%) continues to show insolent health across Europe and climbs onto the top spot for the first time with 4.2% share. It now ranks #5 year-to-date vs. #57 over the Full Year 2022. The Skoda Octavia (+50.8%) follows in 2nd place, up 8 spots on February with the VW Taigo (+123%) closing the podium. The Renault Captur (+69.7%) stays in 4th position while the MG ZS EV (+3050%) soars 13 ranks on last month to land at a record #5. The VW T-Cross (+22.4%) also shines at #10 just as the Renault Austral gains 10 spots on February to a record #12.
