Kazakhstan February 2023: Chevrolet (+330.5%) dominates market up 69.2%

The Chevrolet Nexia ranks #3 in Kazakhstan in February.

New vehicle sales in Kazakhstan surge 69.2% year-on-year in February to 13,115 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 101.8% to 23,547. Chevrolet (+330.5%) holds onto the brands top spot with 27.5% share, distancing Hyundai (+55.4%) and Kia (+122.7%) like in January, YTD and over the Full Year 2022. Toyota (-8.5%) advances to #4 despite losing ground year-on-year with Chery (+1261.2%) down one spot on January to #5. There are no less than five Chinese brands in the Top 9: JAC (+143.6$) ranks 6th above newcomer Exeed, Haval (+147.9%) and newcomer Changan. Geely is up one rank to #12.

Model-wise, the Chevrolet Cobalt (+624.6%) easily cements its domination with 20.2% share, selling more than double any other vehicle in the market. The Hyundai Tucson (+209.3%) is #2 like over the Full Year 2022. It is followed by the Chevrolet Nexia (+130.5%), Hyundai Elantra (+39.1%) and Kia Sorento (+202.2%). The Kia Sportage (+471%) and Hyundai Santa Fe (+319.4%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10.
