Hungary January 2023: Toyota (+74.8%) up to 17.4% share in market up 2.8%
The Toyota Yaris Cross ranks third in Hungary in January.
New car sales in Hungary are up 2.8% year-on-year in January to 8,314 units. Toyota (+74.8%) soars to the brands pole position with a huge 17.4% share vs. 11.9% over the Full Year 2022, leaving Suzuki (-36.8%) with less that half its volume. Kia (+4.2%) is up two spots on December to #3, distancing Ford (-42.1%), Dacia and Volkswagen (-18.6%). Skoda (-18.2%), BMW, Mercedes and Fiat complete the Top 10.
Over in the models ranking, the Suzuki S-Cross (-24.5%) falls sharply but holds onto the top spot for just 10 sales above the Kia Ceed (+22.9%). The Toyota Yaris Cross (+95.9%) surges to a record third place which it also held in December. The Dacia Duster (+29.1%), Toyota Yaris (+79%), Fiat 500 (+133.3%), Toyota C-HR (+77.4%) and Ford Tourneo Custom (+51.1%) are also up significantly. Among recent launches the Dacia Jogger is #12, the Toyota Corolla Cross #15 and the VW Taigo #18.
