Singapore November 2022: Mercedes (+36.7%) overtakes Toyota to #1, ignores market off -22.4%
Mercedes sales are up 36.7% year-on-year in November.
New car sales in Singapore unfortunately continue their freefall in November at -22.4% year-on-year to 2,309 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down a damning -33% to 28,527. Mercedes (+36.7%) completely ignores the gloom environment to climb to pole position, toppling Toyota (-44.4%). It is the first time since July 2020 that Mercedes manages to outsell Toyota. BMW (-23.8%) and Honda (-23.5%) fall slightly faster than the market while Hyundai (-13.7%) resists somewhat at #5. Nissan (+65%) posts a splendid gain and is up five spots on October to #6. Kia (-13.3%) evolves similarly to its sister brand whereas Tesla (-66.3%) and Mazda (-28.9%) both implode. BYD (+1116.7%) soars again but is down five ranks on a record-breaking October. Below, Volvo (+52%), Porsche (+35%) and Citroen (+14.3%) stand out.
