Hungary October 2022: Market down -9.6%, Suzuki Vitara up to #2 year-to-date

The Hungarian new light vehicle market hasn’t managed to consistently stay in positive this year with October sales down -9.6% year-on-year to 9,421. The year-to-date tally is now down -11% to 109,240 including 94,028 passenger cars (-9.3%) and 15,212 light commercial vehicles(-20.3%). In the Passenger Car brands ranking, Suzuki leads the way this month like it did in October, followed by Volkswagen and Toyota again identical to last month’s podium. Kia and Ford round out the Top 5. Year-to-date, Toyota remains in pole position over 1,000 units above Suzuki with Volkswagen, Ford and Kia behind. Notice also Mercedes at #8 and BMW at #9. Model-wise, year-to-date the Suzuki S-Cross and Vitara hold the top 2 spots, followed by the Kia Ceed. The Skoda Octavia ends October at #3 above the Kia Ceed, VW T-Roc, Fiat 500 and Toyota Corolla.
