Kazakhstan August 2022: Chery and Exeed at record heights, market up 25.5%
Exeed is up to a record 8th place in August.
The Kazakh new vehicle market registers another very satisfying year-on-year gain in August at +25.5% to 11,411 units. The year-to-date volume is now down -1.4% at 74,947 and should tilt into positive next month if the positive trend continues. The Top 3 carmakers vastly beat the market: Chevrolet is up 75.5% to 33.8% share, Hyundai is up 45.7% to 19.9% and Kia up 80% to 13% of the market. This means these three manufacturers combined own two-thirds of the market this month. Chery remains at a record #6 for the second straight month while Chery brand Exeed is up two ranks on last month to a new record #8. Lexus (+212.2%) posts the largest gain in the Top 15.
Model-wise, the locally-made Chevrolet Cobalt (+64.9%) and Nexia (+109.6%) continue to dominate the charts head and shoulders with 19.2% and 10% share respectively vs. 17.5% and 6.1% year-to-date. The Hyundai Tucson (+230.9%) advances one spot on July to #3, exchanging ranks with the Kia Sportage (+159.9%). The Toyota Prado (+650.8%) completes a Top 5 entirely outracing the market. The Kia K5 (+643.9%) and Chevrolet Equinox (+121.4%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10. The Chery Tiggo 8 is up 11 spots on last month to break into the Top 5 for the first time at #8 while the Chery Tiggo 7Pro is up one to #11. These models are the two best-selling recent launches in the market.
