China LCV August 2022: Wuling Mini Truck (+137%) impresses in stable market

Wuling Mini Truck sales more than double year-on-year this month.

Light Commercial Vehicle sales in China show a clear improvement on the past few months with sales stabilised year-on-year to 220,063 according to LMC. The year-to-date volume is now down -16% to 1,824,625 while it was off -24% last month. Wuling (+6%) and Foton (+10%) remain the two best-selling LCV carmakers, outpacing the market with small gains. Changan (-20%) isn’t that lucky and falls heavily. Maxus (+23%) and Great Wall (+41%) both post tremendous scores and round out the Top 5. JAC (+30%) also performs really well at #7 and all the remaining Top 10 members endure harsh drops with Dongfeng (-36%) and Jinbei (-30%) the hardest hit. Ford (-29%) reappears in the Top 10 despite a devastating loss. Model-wise, the Wuling Mini Truck (+137%) more than doubles its sales year-on-year to stay on top above the Foton Light Truck (+7%). It however remains #2 year-to-date.
