Hungary August 2022: Kia Ceed, VW T-Roc and Opel Crossland top market edging up 0.6%

The Kia Ceed is the best-selling vehicle in Hungary in August.

New light vehicle sales in Hungary (PC+LCV) edge up 0.6% year-on-year in August to 11,593 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -11.8% to 88,831. The Top 5 YTD brands remain unchanged with Toyota in first place with 12.1% share above Ford (10.8%) Suzuki (9.2%), Volkswagen (8.9%) and Kia (6.6%). For the month of August, Ford (11.8%) takes the lead above Toyota (11.4%) and Volkswagen (10.5%). In the PC only ranking for August, Toyota leads the way above Volkswagen, Ford, Kia and Opel.

Over in the models ranking, we have a completely reshuffled order due to the weakness of the traditional leader, the Suzuki S-Cross down to #7. The Kia Ceed takes the lead for what is believed to be the first time above the VW T-Roc and Opel Crossland, the latter ranking #22 year-to-date. The Skoda Octavia and Dacia Duster round out the Top 5, distancing the Ford Tourneo Custom. Year-to-date, the Suzuki S-Cross remains by far the most popular above the Kia Ceed, Dacia Duster, Suzuki Vitara and Toyota Corolla.
