China LCV July 2022: JAC (+23%), Maxus (+12%) can’t prevent market down -13%

JAC sales are up 23% in a market down -13% in July.

Based on LMC Automotive data, the Chinese LCV market suffers another -13% year-on-year drop to 219,827 units, leading to a year-to-date volume off -24% to 1,604,562. In the brands ranking, Wuling (-14%) easily tops the charts and matches the market evolution. The Top 6 is unchanged on June with JAC (+23%) and Maxus (+12%) at #7 delivering gravity-defying double-digit gains, Great Wall (-8%) resisting better than the market, Changan (-14%) evolving like the general trend and Dongfeng (-28%) in a rut. Jinbei (-24%) returns to the Top 10 at #8. Model-wise, the Wuling Mini Truck (-26%) edges past the Foton Light Truck (-28%) despite doubling the market fall.
