UK nations June 2022: MG HS #1 in Wales, Dacia Sandero in Top 6 of 3 nations

The MG HS ranks inside the Top 10 of each UK nation in June.

Thanks to SMMT we can share with you the Top 10 best-sellers for each UK nation in June. Keep in mind this is a zoom in by nation, all sales figures are included in the June 2022 UK update. This month Scotland (12,523 sales) is the best performing nation at -12.7%, followed by Northern Ireland (3,539) at -13.1% and Wales (4,924) at -19.7%. England (119,620) is by far the worst at -25.8%. Year-to-date, Northern Ireland (21,139) is the only UK nation in positive at +1.4% with Wales (29,223) at -2.1% and Scotland (71,831) at -2.1% also. In contrast, England (678,029) drops -13.5% over H1 2022, leading to an overall UK market down -11.8% over the period.

Looking at the Top 10 models for each nation, the podium finishers are as follows. The Vauxhall Corsa is #1 in Scotland, #2 in England and #3 in Wales, the Tesla Model Y is #1 in England and the Hyundai Tucson #1 in Northern Ireland. But the event of the month is the MG HS claiming the #1 spot in Wales. In fact, it ranks inside the Top 10 of each nation this month: #4 in Scotland, #7 in Northern Ireland and #10 in England. As a result the YTD podium in Wales has the MG ZS (#2) and HS (#3).

The Ford Kuga is joint #2 in Northern Ireland, the Ford Puma joint #2 in Northern Ireland and #2 in Scotland, Toyota Yaris is #2 in Wales, the Mini Hatch #3 in England and the VW Golf #3 in Scotland. Other great performers include the Kia Niro #5 in England, the Dacia Sandero inside the Top 6 of three nations: #5 in Wales and #6 in Northern Ireland and in Scotland, and the Ford Ecosport #9 in Northern Ireland. Finally the Kia Ceed scores its first Top 10 finish in Scotland at #9.
