Croatia June 2022: Kia (+39.1%), Dacia (+34.4%) defy market down -26.2%

The Kia Xceed is up 45.7% year-on-year in Croatia in June.

The Croatian new car market drops -26.2% year-on-year in June to 5,116 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally down -9.8% to 23,535. Kia (+39.1%) leaps to the brands pole position for the second time in the past 3 months at 12% share vs. 9.7% so far this year. Similarly, Dacia (+34.4%) is up to #2 with 11.1% of the market vs. 8.1% YTD and climbs to #4 year-to-date as a result. YTD leader Volkswagen (-42.2%) freefalls and drops to #3 for the month. Skoda (-29.8%) and Opel (-59.8%) also fall faster than the market just below. Toyota (+4.5%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10 at #6. Further down, Cupra (+443.8%), Jaguar (+200%), Ford (+152.6%) and Fiat (+148.8%) stand out.

Mode-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+23.1%) surges from outside the May Top 20 directly to #1 for the third time this year but remains #2 year-to-date below the Dacia Duster. The Duster (+18.4%) drops to #2 in June, ahead of the Dacia Sandero (+16.8%) and Kia Stonic (+60.8%). The Opel Crossland (+1.8%) and Renault Captur (+204.1%) ensure the Top 6 models are entirely in market-defying positive. The Toyota Yaris (+9.8%) also is while the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross (+113.6%) is up 10 spots on May to #9. The Kia Rio (#10), VW Taigo (#11), Kia Ceed (+45.7%), Cupra Formentor (#15), Kia Xceed (+45.8%) also impress while the Sportage makes it 5 Kias in the Top 17.
