Iraq March 2022: Jeep (+194.1%) up to #3 in market up 6.2%

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is up to #3 in the Iraqi models ranking this month.

The Iraqi new light vehicle market climbs 6.2% year-on-year in March to 6,984 units. Kia (+6.1%) evolves like the market to remain ultra dominant at 38.3% share, distancing Toyota (+25.9%) at 23.1%. Jeep (+194.1%) triples its year-ago sales to land in third place overall ahead of Hyundai (-46%) in complete freefall. MG (+35%) continues to climb the Iraqi ladder and now ranks inside the Top 5 at #5. For its part Changan (+238.6%) is up to #6, distancing Nissan (-60.4%) and Haval (+1.6%). Renault and GMC (+111.6%) round out the Top 10, with Mitsubishi (+440%) and Suzuki (+140%) also impressive below.

 The Kia Frontier (+20.8%) remains the best-seller in Iraq with 21.1% share, with the Kia Sorento (+148.9%) in tow at 16.3% of the market. The Jeep Grand Cherokee lurches to third spot with 11.5% share, displacing the Toyota Hilux (+117.4%) at #4 with 10.9% of the market. The Toyota Land Cruiser SW (-40.6%) is in bad shape and rounds the Top 5 above a very shy Hyundai Elantra (+0.7%) and a very healthy Toyota Corolla (+57.1%). The new Toyota Corolla Cross lands at #8 above the Renault Koleos and Hyundai Kona, Just outside the Top 10, the MG ZS (+78.3%) and GMC Yukon (+123.1%) make waves. Notice also the MG6 up to #35, the Changan Eado Plus at #41 and the Haval Dargo landing directly at #40.
