Thailand February 2022: Isuzu D-Max confirms dominance over Toyota Hilux
The Isuzu D-Max outsells the Toyota Hilux so far in 2022.
New vehicle sales in Thailand surge 26.3% year-on-year in February to 74,489 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 26.1% to 143,944. Toyota (+57.3%) outpaces the market to cement its dominance with 33.5% share, distancing Isuzu (+22.6%) at 27.1%. Honda (-21.3%) is in difficulty but remains in third place with 9.5% share. Mitsubishi (+26.4%) follows the market whereas Mazda (+8.5%) and MG (+9.7%) underperform. Nissan (-6.4%) and Ford (-20.4%) even post negative results while Suzuki (+30.9%) shines at #9. Notice newcomer GWM ranking #10 in January and #11 in February mainly thanks to the Haval H6. In the pickup trucks ranking, the Isuzu D-Max (+33.4%) continues to lead above the Toyota Hilux (+62.2%) and Mitsubishi Triton (+49%) while the Ford Ranger (-14.6%) awaits the new generation.
