Taiwan February 2022: Toyota (+23.5%) and Lexus (+50.5%) top market down -10.7%

The Taiwanese market drops -10.7% year-on-year in February to 24,278 units. This brings the year-to-date tally to 64,902, down -17.2% on the same period in 2021. Toyota (+23.5%) and Lexus (+50.5%) defy the negative market to top the brands ranking with 32.9% and 7.5% share respectively. Honda (-5.1%) remains in third place above CMC (+0.2%) while Mercedes (-42.3%) and Ford (-22.8%) dive. Nissan (-10%) follows the market with Tesla (+59.5%) scoring the largest gain in the Top 10 and rises to #10.
Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla Cross and RAV4 cement their dominance with 9.1% and 7.7% share respectively. The performer of the month is the Lexus NX up to third place and compensating for a particularly weak January when it didn’t rank inside the Top 60. The Toyota Corolla Altis is knocked down from the podium to #4 while the CMC Veryca is also down one spot on January to #5. The Honda CR-V and Toyota Yaris camp on their January positions at #6 and #7 respectively while the Tesla Model 3 climbs to #8 overall, its best performance since June 2021 when it ranked #6. The Toyota Town Ace lands directly at #11.
