Bahrain Full Year 2021: Toyota Land Cruiser lands 8th consecutive year at #1, Nissan Sunny up to #2

New vehicle sales in Bahrain edge up 3.8% year-on-year to 24,709 units. Toyota (-6%) remains by far the best-selling carmaker but sees its market share drop almost four percentage points to 36.7%. Nissan (+30.8%) on the other hand goes from 9.2% to 11.6% to confirm its 2nd spot. Hyundai (-7.1%) takes advantage of a steep fall by Lexus (-19.6%) to land on the third step of the podium. Isuzu (+41.1%) and MG (+21.5%) are also very dynamic in the remainder of the Top 10 while below, Changan (+62.8%) Ford (+32.9%) and Jeep (+26.2%) impress. Haval lands directly at #14, Great Wall at #28 and Jetour at #33.

Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (-15.4%) secures an 8th consecutive annual win but drops below the symbolic 10% share at 9.8% vs. 12.1% last year. The Nissan Sunny (+65.4%) climbs up three spots to #2 as does the Isuzu TF (+51%) to #3. The Toyota Corolla (+9.4%) remains in 4th place above the Toyota Yaris (+57.5%) up five ranks to #5. Toyota monopolises the rest of the Top 8 with the Hiace (+15.2%), Hilux (-37.6%) and Camry (+1.5%). The RAV4 (+38.3%) and Prado (-50.2%) make it 8 Toyotas in the Top 11. Notice also serious upticks by the Hyundai Sonata (+214.6%), MG ZS (+111.5%), Nissan X-Trail (+85.1%), Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (+57.3%) and Hyundai Elantra (+44.3%).
