Wales (UK) Full Year 2021: Ford Puma surges to pole position, market down -4.5%

Our partnership with SMMT enables us to share with you a zoom in on Wales as a UK nation, keep in mind overall UK sales figures have already been analysed in our UK Full Year 2021 update. The Welsh new car market recedes -4.5% year-on-year in 2021 to 56,935 sales, the only UK nation in negative. We have a new leader in the models ranking: the Ford Puma (+26.1%) advances five spots on last year to #1, toppling the Vauxhall Corsa (-76.4%). In fact the Corsa falls to #9 this year, an evolution at odds with other UK nations where it snapped wins. The Ford Fiesta (-26.5%) remains in 2nd place, by far its best finish of any UK nation this year. The MG ZS (-5.7%) is also immobile in third position, distancing the Toyota Yaris (+9.3%). The VW Polo (#5), Kia Sportage (#7) and VW T-Roc (#10) are newcomers in the Top 10 this year.
