Pakistan November 2021: Toyota Corolla snaps lead in market up 28.8%

The previous generation Toyota Corolla is still produced in Pakistan.

Sales of locally-produced new light vehicles in Pakistan surge 28.8% year-on-year in November to 18,714 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 89.8% to 210,093. Suzuki (+25.3%) and Toyota (+27.8%) are just below the market growth rate but still combine 79.2% of the market. Honda (+34.6%) and Hyundai (+58.5%) are more dynamic below while we welcome the arrival of Chinese manufacturer BAIC with just 4 sales. Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla (+63.5%) soars to pole position for the first time since March 2020, dislodging the year-to-date leader, the Suzuki Alto (-11.1%). The Suzuki WagonR (+125.8%) advances four spots on last month to land on the third step of the podium, outselling the Toyota Yaris (-15.5%) in difficulty. The Suzuki Cultus (+8.8%) rounds out the Top 5 but underperforms, unlike the Suzuki Bolan (+116.6%), Toyota Fortuner (+107.4%), Honda BR-V (+60.4%) and Toyota Hilux (+50.6%). The BAIC BJ40L and X25 make their first appearance at the bottom of the charts.
