Iraq November 2021: Toyota up 40.6%, Changan up 274.7% in market down -21.1%
The Changan Eado Plus is the best-selling recent launch in Iraq this month.
New car sales in Iraq drop -21.1% year-on-year in November to 6,372 registrations. Brand leader Kia (-50.5%) is in freefall but easily keeps the lead with 36.8% share. In contrast, Toyota (+40.6%) has a splendid month and climbs to 19.2% share ahead of Hyundai (-4.8%) at 16.2%. These three manufacturers hold a mammoth 72.2% share this month. Jeep (+14.3%) shines in 4th place with Changan (+274.7%), Nissan (+83.8%) and MG (+19.2%) also up in the remainder of the Top 10. Chevrolet (-34.5%) is in trouble but ranks 5th while Great Wall and Haval make their appearance inside the Iraqi Top 10.
Model-wise, the Kia Frontier (-47.7%) implodes but stays on top with 24.6% share while the Hyundai Tucson (+45.7%) soars to 2nd place overall, dislodging the Kia Sorento (-16.7%). The Toyota Hilux (-19.1%) remains in 4th place above the Jeep Grand Cherokee (+7.6%) and Chevrolet Captiva (-30.2%). The Toyota Corolla (+1906.7%) is up 20-fold year-on-year with the Toyota Prado (+62%) and Land Cruiser SW (+37%) also posting fantastic gains in the remainder of the Top 10. The Changan Eado Plus leads recent launches at #12, distancing the Great Wall Wingle (#13), Haval H6 (#24), Haval Jolion (#28) and Great Wall Poer (#30).
