Denmark June 2021: Toyota Yaris best-seller in market up 13%
The Toyota Yaris is #1 in Denmark in June.
New car sales in Denmark lift 13% year-on-year in June to 20.271, leading to a year-to-date tally up 9.1% to 96.506. Note the market has roughly returned to pre-pandemic levels as June 2019 totalled 20.710 registrations. Brand leader Volkswagen (-2.5%) goes against the positive trend but holds onto the top spot with 11.7% share, while Toyota (+114.6%) and BMW (+113.7%) both more than double their sales year-on-year to complete the podium. In fact the remainder of the Top 6 is overperforming, with Audi (+95.7%), Hyundai (+66.4%) and Mercedes (+58.5%) all in outstanding shape. In contrast, Ford (-32.4%), Peugeot (-20.2%), Skoda (-19.1%) and Citroen (-7.1%) struggle.
The Toyota Yaris (+108.8%) surges 5 spots on May to take the lead of the models ranking, advancing to #4 year-to-date as a result and knocking the YTD leader, the Ford Kuga (-7.1%) down to #2. The Toyota RAV4 (+472.4%) posts a spectacular gain thanks to its new PHEV variant to land on the third step of the podium. Faithful to its backloaded quarters, the Tesla Model 3 is up a whopping 157 spots on last month to climb to #4 overall but ranks #26 year-to-date vs. #7 over the Full Year 2020. The Hyundai i10 (+181.3%), Toyota Aygo (+157.9%) and Mercedes C-Class (+128.4%) follow with stunning upticks. The VW ID.4 is up 27 ranks on May to lead recent launches at #12 ahead of the VW ID.3 (#39), Skoda Enyaq (#40) and Citroen C4 (#44).
