Kazakhstan May 2021: Chevrolet Nexia takes the lead in market up 38%
The Chevrolet Nexia is #1 in Kazakhstan in May.
Some good news for the new vehicle market in Kazakhstan: sales are up 38% year-on-year in May to 10.097 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 68.8% to 44.369. That’s especially significant given May 2020 volumes were up 18.7% on the year prior. Chevrolet (+2115.1%) is now a local manufacturer and confirms its domination with 27.6% share vs. 26.4% so far this year. Hyundai (+2.2%) underperforms at 16.3% share vs. 23.2% YTD but Toyota (+70.5%) and Kia (+115.5%) score splendid gains below. Lada (-58.7%) continues to implode but is up one spot on last month to #5, distancing Volkswagen (+260.6%) in outstanding shape. JAC (+185.2%) and Nissan (+76.8%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Notice also Haval up to #12.
Model-wise, the Chevrolet Nexia takes control of the charts with 15.1% share in a timely manner given just one year ago the Ravon R3 Nexia was #1 which is essentially the same vehicle. The Chevrolet Cobalt (+6666.7%) is down one spot to #2 while the Hyundai Accent (+125%) remains in third position. The Kia Rio (+105.7%) and Toyota Camry (+49.4%) are both up one spot on April to #4 and #5 respectively. The VW Polo (+223.2%), Toyota RAV4 (+193.1%) and Hyundai Santa Fe (+63.4%) score fantastic gains in the remainder of the Top 10. The Haval F7 leads recent launches at #30 ahead of the JAC J7 at #36, Haval F7X at #40 and Kia K5 at #42.
