Pakistan April 2021: Suzuki Alto reigns supreme in market down -11.3% on two years ago
The Suzuki Alto remains by far the best-seller in Pakistan.
Sales of locally-produced light vehicles in Pakistan add up to 17.233 in April vs. just 39 units in April 2020 when the market stalled due to Covid. The year-to-date tally is now up 130.8% to 71.997 units. Note April 2021 volumes remain down -11.3% on pre-pandemic figures in April 2019. Suzuki slips below the symbolic 50% share milestone this month at 49.9% v. 51% so far this year, while Toyota is up to 31.1% vs. 30.4% year-to-date. Honda is a little weak at 13.3% vs. 14.3% just as Hyundai continues to progress at 5.2%. Model-wise, the Suzuki Alto easily tops the charts with 23.7% share vs. 23.5% so far this year, while the Toyota Yaris holds 15.1% in 2nd place to be compared with 15.9% YTD. The Toyota Corolla remains in third place at a round 10% share, distancing the Suzuki WagonR and Cultus.
