Slovenia January 2021: Skoda Octavia (+120.7%), Kodiaq (+34.7%) can’t prevent market down -29.3%
The Skoda Octavia is the best-selling vehicle in Slovenia in January.
New car sales in Slovenia drop -29.3% year-on-year in January to 4.391 units. Brand leader Volkswagen (-29.2%) follows the market to a strong 18% share vs. 16.1% over FY2020 while Skoda (-0.7%) manages to stabilise its sales to shoot up to 16.9% share vs. 10.4% over FY2020. Renault (-50.9%) is in difficulty in third place whereas Peugeot (+22.9%) posts the largest year-on-year gain in the Top 12. Dacia (+2.8%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 12, with Nissan (-11.4%) and BMW (-15.7%) resisting but Toyota (-57.5%), Fiat (-55.4%), Seat (-39.4%) and Hyundai (-34.3%) imploding. Below, notice Jeep (+171.4%) up almost 3-fold on January 2020 to #13.
Over in the models ranking, the Skoda Octavia (+120.7%) more than doubles its year-ago volume to easily snap the pole position with 8.7% share vs. 3.6% over the FY2020. The Renault Clio (-39%) is hit hard at #2 above the VW T-Cross (-19.1%) resisting somewhat. The Skoda Kodiaq (+34.7%) is up 27 spots on December to land at a fantastic 4th place ahead of last month’s leader the VW Golf (-23.1%). The Jeep Compass (+323.1%), Peugeot 3008 (+35.9%) and VW T-Roc (+5.6%) also manage year-on-year upticks in the remainder of the Top 10.
