Belgium February 2021: BMW repeats at #1 in market off -21.9%
BMW is the best-selling carmaker in Belgium for the 5th time in the past year.
The Belgian new car market drops -21.9% year-on-year in February to 36.536 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume down -24.7% to 74.271. BMW (+13.1%) swims upstream to repeat in the pole position at 9.5% share. This is the 5th time in the past year that BMW manages to snap the Belgian brands top spot, putting a dent into Volkswagen’s traditional domination. In fact VW (-34.9%) is relegated to third place this month below Peugeot (+6.3%) also up year-on-year. Ford (-7.7%) and Skoda (-9.9%) contain their loss but Renault (-37.8%), Opel (-32.2%) and Mercedes (-28%) sink. Outside the Top 10, Polestar (+341.7%) celebrates one year in market while MG (+192%), Subaru (+119.2%), Porsche (+20.1%), Tesla (+9.5%), Ssangyong (+8.8%) and Mazda (+6.7%) stand out.
