New car sales in the Netherlands drop -14.3% year-on-year in November to 33.499 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -22.3% to 313.501. Volkswagen (-12%) easily remains the most popular carmaker in the country with 11.8% share while just below, Renault (-0.5%), Peugeot (-0.3%), Kia (-5.4%) and Toyota (-7.2%) all manage to also drop slower than the market. But it’s Volvo (+75.8%), Ford (+42.7%), Opel (+22.1%) and Audi (+18.7%) that impress the most in the remainder of the Top 10. Polestar remains inside the Top 20 at #19 with 1.5% share while we welcome Chinese EV maker Aiways at #32 and Cupra at #41.

Over in the models ranking, the VW ID.3 repeats at #1 but almost halves its market share vs. last month to 4.5%. The Volvo XC40 (+284.1%) is lifted to a record 2nd place by its new green variant, and in fact the entire Top 7 displays insolent health with the Opel Corsa (+408%), Toyota Yaris (+83.8%), Ford Focus (+74.1%), Renault Captur (+38.30 and Kia Niro (+14.9%) all posting very impressive year-on-year gains, with the Peugeot 2008 (+102.2%) and 208 (+64.7%) also making themselves noticed in the remainder of the Top 10. Below the ID.3, the Polestar 2 (#18), Ford Puma (#37) and Mazda MX-30 (#50) top recent launches while the Aiways U5 lands at #131.
