Slovenia August 2020: Kia (+115.2%), Nissan (+57.9%), Peugeot 2008 (#2) defy sales back down -13%

After soaring 7.9% in July, the Slovenian new car market falls back down into negative in August at -13% year-on-year to 4.357 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -25.5% to 38.791. Renault (-8%) remains above Volkswagen (-31.9%) atop the brands ranking for just 4 sales with Skoda (-11.7%) rounding out the podium as it does YTD. Just below is a string of four extremely dynamic brands, Kia (+115.2%) being the most dynamic followed by Nissan (+57.9%), Peugeot (+31.8%) and Hyundai (+27.1%). Further down, Alfa Romeo (+462.5%), Mitsubishi (+200%), Tesla (+66.7%), Audi (+16.5%) and Honda (+15.8%) are also up. Model-wise, the Renault Clio (+51%) reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date while the Peugeot 2008 (+153.4%) slices its ranking record in two to reach the 2nd place overall and the Hyundai Tucson (+222.6%) remains at #3. In fact the entire August Top 7 and 8 models in the Top 9 post spectacular year-on-year gains: the Dacia Duster (+400%), Hyundai i20 (+104.4%), VW Polo (+90.5%), Nissan Qashqai (+31.4%) and Skoda Octavia (+22.2%) also evolve vastly higher than a year ago.
