Serbia August 2020: Fiat 500L signs first win of the year in market down -17.2%

The Fiat 500L signs its first win of 2020 in Serbia.

Based on data shared by our Central European market data partner CE Auto, the Serbian new car market is down -17.2% year-on-year in August to 2.320 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume down -27.9% to 17.555 units. The locally-produced Fiat 500L (+24.8%) is up two spots on July to score its first Serbian monthly win since last November, distancing the Skoda Fabia (+31.2%), Octavia (+39.3%) and Renault Clio (+40.3%), all nameplates blissfully ignoring the market decline to post spectacular double-digit surges. The Fiat 500 reappears inside the Serbian Top 10 at #5, the Dacia Sandero (+20.4%) posts a solid gain at #7 and the Citroen C3 is up to #8.

Previous month: Serbia July 2020: Renault Clio leads again, Toyota Corolla and Citroen C3 Aircross in Top 10, market down just -6.9%

One year ago: Serbia August 2019: Fiat monopolises podium with Tipo, 500L  and 500, places 6 nameplates in Top 10
