Luxembourg June 2020: Skoda (+49.8%), Dacia (+74.1%) help reduce market fall to -10.6%

Luxembourg new car sales manage to drastically reduce their losses in June at -10.6% year-on-year to 4.648 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -33.2% to 20.793. Although Volkswagen (-13.1%) easily remains the most popular brand in the country, it trails the market to 13.5% share but apart from Mercedes (-4.1%) at #2, BMW (-11.9%) and Audi (-29.2%) also underperform in the remainder of the Top 4. Skoda (+49.8%) is the outstanding performer below, managing the largest gain in the Top 13 and ranking #5 again, as it does YTD. Hyundai (+25.4%) and Fiat (+8.7%) also stand out with year-on-year gains while further down, Dacia (+74.1%), Suzuki (+52.8%), Mini (+43.9%), Kia (+31.3%) and Nissan (+16.9%) impress. MG (+950%) is up to #29 and Borgward reappears at #42 with 2 sales. Model-wise, the VW Golf (-17.2%) retains the lead above the Mercedes A-Class (+49%), Skoda Octavia (+109.4%) and Audi Q3 (-24.6%).
