Denmark July 2020: Kuga up to 8.9% share, lifts Ford to #1 brand in market up 13.4%
The Ford Kuga repeats at #1 in Denmark.
The Danish new car market spectacularly pivot back into positive in July at +13.4% year-on-year to 18.956 registrations, yet the year-to-date volume remains down -22.7% to 107.383. Ford (+163.8%) almost triples its July 2019 volume to step into the brands pole position with 11.7% share, toppling traditional leader Volkswagen (-9.5%) worryingly still in steep decline. Citroen (+39.3%), Skoda (+29.4%) and Peugeot (+14.9%) all outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 5, with Kia (+29.6%) and Hyundai (+19.7%) also impressive just below. The models ranking shows Danish consumers have discovered themselves a new passion for the Ford Kuga (+2277.5%) whose new generation is up a surreal 24-fold on July 2019, easily repeating at #1 with a gargantuan 8.9% share and stepping up to #4 year-to-date with 2.5% of the market. The Citroen C3 (+63.1%) rallies back up 9 ranks on last month to return to the #2 spot it holds YTD while the Peugeot 208 (+83.6%) rounds out the podium and remains #1 YTD, albeit only 37 units above the C3. The Peugeot 2008 (+154.3%), Skoda Fabia (+55.7%), Mercedes A-Class (+47.9%), Opel Corsa (+46.8%), VW Golf (+44.6%) and Renault Clio (+37.7%) also impress below.
