Liechtenstein Full Year 2019: VW monopolises podium for first time since 2012 in market up 5.6%

New car sales in Liechtenstein gain a solid 5.6% year-on-year in 2019 to 1.953 registrations. Volkswagen (+28.8%) stuns with the largest gain among the Top 6 brands, soaring from 12% to 14.6% share. BMW (+15%) also impresses, overtaking Audi (+1.5%) to snap the 2nd spot overall just as Mercedes (+5.2%) remains in 4th place. Skoda (+15%), Toyota (+21.3%) and Seat (+30.7%) all leapfrog past Ford (-22.8%), Land Rover (-16.9%) remains at #9 and Volvo (-13%) breaks into the Top 10 at #10 despite a steep fall. Further down, Dodge (+950%), Ferrari (+400%), Tesla (+333.3%), Peugeot (+52.9%) and Fiat (+50%) stand out.
Over in the models ranking, the VW Golf (+23.6%) repeats at #1 while the VW Transporter (+180%) lifts a spectacular 20 spots to land in 2nd place and the VW Tiguan (+8.5%) ensures the 2019 podium is 100% Volkswagen for the first time since 2012. The Skoda Octavia (+11.4%) is up two spots to #4 and the Seat Ateca (+183.3%) up 49 to #5 meaning the VW Group also monopolises the Top 5 for the first time since 2017 and the 5th time in the past 6 years. The Audi Q2 (+43.5%) and Mercedes C-Class (+34.8%) also shine in the Top 10 just as the Tesla Model 3 (#24) tops 2019 launches above the Toyota Corolla (#28), Audi e-Tron (#39) and VW T-Cross (#87).
