Greece February 2020: Toyota (+25.6%), Citroen (+23.3%), BMW (+91%) help keep market in positive (+4%)

Citroen C3 sales surge 25.4% year-on-year in February.

The Greek new car market defies the surrounding European gloom for the second straight month in February at +4% to 7.862 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 5.2% to 17.647. Strikingly, the Top 5 best-selling brands all post double-digit gains, led by Toyota (+25.6%), Peugeot (+19.2%) and Volkswagen (+12.2%) with Citroen (+23.3%) and Hyundai (+13.5%) in tow. BMW (+91%), Nissan (+14.2%) and Suzuki (+10%) also shine in the Top 10 but Fiat (-42.5%) and Opel (-20.4%) struggle. Further down, Mini (+46.4%), Seat (+23.5%), Skoda (+21.5%) and Kia (+13.2%) also shine further down.

Model-wise, the Toyota Yaris (+8.2%) holds onto the top spot while the Peugeot 208 (+5.8%) is lifted to #2 by the new generation, with the Citroen C3 (+25.4%), Opel Corsa (-28.5%) and Fiat Panda (-39.6%) ensuring the Top 5 is 100% superminis. The Peugeot 3008 (+32.1%) and Renault Clio (+20.5%) also stand out in the Top 10, just as the VW T-Cross (#9) tops recent launches once again above the Skoda Kamiq (#42), Scala (#43), Ford Puma (#56) and Kia Xceed (#78).
