Moldova Full Year 2019: Dacia Logan and Duster reign, Toyota RAV4 on podium in market up 8%

According to data shared with us by our Central European partner CE Auto, the Moldovan new car market posts a 4th consecutive year of gains in 2019 at +8% to 6.831 registrations. Strikingly, the entire Top 8 vastly outpaces the market and posts double-digit gains. The Dacia Logan (+27.2%) easily remains in pole position for at least the 9th straight year – we don’t have regular and Moldova-specific data prior to 2011. Like in 2018 the Logan only tops the Moldovan month charts 6 times. The Dacia Duster (+28.9%) follows like last year and nabbed 4 monthly wins, but it’s the Toyota RAV4 (+28.4%) that leaps on the podium in 2019 thanks to monthly wins in June and December, dislodging the Hyundai Tucson (+17.7%). The Skoda Octavia (+21.7%) remains in 5th place with the Kia Sportage (+43.7%), Dacia Dokker (+32.1%) and Suzuki Vitara (+27.8%) all sporting spectacular gains. The Skoda Kodiaq breaks into the annual Top 10 for the first time and makes it 6 SUVs in the 2019 Top 9 vs. 5 in 2018.
