Chile November 2019: Peugeot (+2.1%), Brilliance (+177.6%), MG (+18.6%) shine in market sinking -27.6%

The crisis deepens to the Chilean new light vehicle market, down -27.6% year-on-year in November to 24.272 units. That’s the steepest fall since the -29.1% recorded in February 2015 and the smallest monthly volume since February 2017. The year-to-date tally is now down -10.5% to 341.788. Chevrolet (-25.6%) roughly matches the market to remain the most popular brand in the country, while Nissan (-16%) posts the smallest decline in the Top 6 to climb 3 spots on October to #2, distancing Hyundai (-28.7%), Kia (-34.2%), Suzuki (-28.1%) and Toyota (-33.1%) all taking a hit. Peugeot (+2.1%) is the only carmaker in the Top 13 to manage a year-on-year uptick, joined further down in the Top 40 by Brilliance (+177.6%), DS (+69.2%), MG (+18.6%), ZNA (+5.3%), the Great Wall Group (+3.3%) and Maxus (+3.2%).
