Vietnam October 2019: Mitsubishi Xpander snaps 1st ever win

The Mitsubishi Xpander is the best-selling vehicle in Vietnam in October.

New vehicle sales in Vietnam are stable in October, up just 0.2% year-on-year to 28.948 units and leading to a year-to-date tally up 16.9% to 259.282. Toyota (-14.4%) remains king of the castle despite a steep fall, distancing Thaco Kia (+0.02%) and Mitsubishi (+181.9%) up 3-fold to 12.3% share. Suzuki (+66%), Isuzu (+33%), Ford (+21%) and Hino (+15.7%) also shine among the Top 10 manufacturers. Model-wise, the Mitsubishi Xpander (+825.7%) snaps its very first monthly win in Vietnam, toppling the Toyota Vios (-6.5%) just as the Ford Ranger (+26.7%), Toyota Fortuner (+9.9%) and Honda CR-V (+11.6%) all post solid scores in the remainder of the Top 5. This makes Vietnam the second country in the world to crown the Xpander after Indonesia. The Toyota Camry (+140.1%) and Ford Everest (+114.8%) also stand out further down.
