Indonesia September 2019: Toyota Avanza and Honda Brio shine in stable market

The Indonesian new vehicle market significantly slow down its fall in September to just -0.2% to 92.900 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -12% to 753.620. Inside the Top 5 brands, both market leaders Toyota (+6.7%) and Daihatsu (+2.5%), as well as Honda (+13.4%) swim upstream with year-on-year gains, whereas Mitsubishi (-28.5%) and Suzuki (-8.6%) freefall. Below, Wuling (+72.3%), Nissan (+501.9%) and Dongfeng (+116.3%) continue to impress. Model-wise, thanks to its facelift the Toyota Avanza (+54.1%) shoots up to 10.2% share, only the third time in the past 22 months alongside last April (10.8%) it manages a double-digit share in Indonesia. The Honda Brio, absent fro the year-ago Top 20, does even better at #2 and 7.2%, soaring 56.2% YTD where it is now #3 above the Toyota Rush. The Daihatsu Terios (+37.5%), Toyota Calya (+26.8%) and Suzuki Carry Pikap (+26.7%) also shine in the Top 20 where the Wuling Almaz manages a third straight month.
