Georgia 8 months 2019: Toyota RAV4 snaps lead above Corolla, Prado, Camry

The Toyota RAV4 is the best-selling vehicle in Georgia so far in 2019.

2.976 new light vehicles found a buyer in Georgia over the first 8 months of 2019. Toyota remains ultra-dominant on this market with just under 1 in every 3 sales over the period (32.8%) albeit below its FY2018 level (38.8%). Hyundai flirts with the 10% share mark so far in 2019, almost three percentage points above its 2018 level, while Renault is up to 8.5% in third place vs. 3.3% and #9 last year. Ford (6.5%) holds onto #4 ahead of Kia (5.3%), Skoda (5.1%), Mercedes (4.6%) and Lexus (4.5%). All other carmakers sell less than 100 units in Georgia over the period.

In the models ranking, the Toyota RAV4 is lifted up to pole position by the new generation and holds 7% of the Georgian market so far in 2019, distancing the Toyota Corolla (6.4%) and last year’s leader the Toyota Prado (5%) while the Camry (4.8%) endures the Top 4 is 100% Toyota. The Skoda Octavia (4.7%) and Renault Duster (4.5%) are the best-selling non-Toyota nameplates at #5 and #6 respectively just as the Hyundai Ioniq doubles its FY18 market share to #8, the Ford Ranger is up to #9 vs. #40 in 2018 and the Lexus LX up to #12 vs. #40.
