China LCV June 2019: Jinbei (+8%), Foton (+4%) swim upstream in market down -24%

Jinbei LCV sales gain 8% in a market down -24% in June.

Wholesales of Light Commercial vehicles in China freefall -24% year-on-year in June to 231.047 units, tilting the year-to-date tally down -5% to 1.606.503. Wuling (-34%) easily remains the best-selling carmaker despite a devastating loss, distancing Foton (+4%) one of only two Top 10 brands in positive, Changan (-36%) and Dongfeng (-10%). Jinbei (+8%) is the only carmaker posting a gain this month, up two spots on May to #5. Below, only Great Wall (-19%) manages to lose less ground than the market while JMC (-44%), Isuzu (-29%) and Maxus (-28%) are hit the hardest. Model-wise, the Foton Light Truck (+4%) overtakes the Wuling Mini Truck (-27%) for the month but the latter still has a 15.000 unit-advantage year-to-date.
