Kazakhstan June 2019: Hyundai #1 brand for the first time in market up 15%

The Elantra (+126.1%) helps Hyundai sales up 79.1% this month in Kazakhstan.

New vehicle sales in Kazakhstan leap up 15% year-on-year in June to 6.400 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 18.2% to 32.099. Hyundai (+79.1%) snaps the brands pole position for the first time since BSCB started following Kazakhstan monthly back in 2012. The Korean carmaker manages to leapfrog past Lada (+12.2%) and Toyota (-14.5%) for the month but remains #3 year-to-date at 18.7% share vs. 22.9% for Lada and 20.7% for Toyota. Uzbek brand Ravon (+538.2%), UAZ (+94.1%), Volkswagen (+60.6%), JAC (+21.8%) and Renault (+18.6%) also outpace the market in the Top 10.

Model-wise, the Toyota Camry (-14.6%) holds onto the top spot despite a steep fall, resisting the assault of the Hyundai Tucson (+82.1%) ending the month 50 sales below. The Lada Granta (+11.1%), Hyundai Elantra (+126.1%) and Lada Vesta (+21%) round up the Top 5, with Lada placing 4 nameplates in the Top 7 with the 4×4 (+21.4%) and Largus (+9.6%) and Hyundai 4 in the Top 9 with the Creta (+62.5%) and Accent (+8.7%). The Ravon Nexia R3 (+530.3%) bounces back into the Top 10 for the first time since April 2018.
