Denmark June 2019: Tesla Model 3 and VW T-Cross break into Top 10 in market down -8%
The Tesla Model 3 is up to a record 6th place in Denmark this month.
The Danish new car market skids down -8% year-on-year in June to 20.710 registrations, but the year-to-date tally remains in positive for now at +1.2% to 122.239. Volkswagen (-16.6%) falls twice as fast as the market but retains the brands lead at 12.5% vs. 13.8% YTD, Renault (+13.7%) surges 6 spots on May to #2, distancing Toyota (-4.6%), Peugeot (-38.1%) and Skoda (+0.2%). Audi (+36.4%) and BMW (+29.7%) post the largest gains in the Top 10 while beyond, Tesla (+4580%), Land Rover (+187.5%), DS (+74.3%), Seat (+48.3%), Hyundai (+29.6%), Jeep (+25%), Volvo (+19.9%), Dacia (+19.6%) and Mazda (+14.7%) stand out.
The Renault Clio (+25.5%) leaps up to #1 ahead of the Nissan Qashqai (-24.9%), VW Polo (+0.5%), Citroen C3 (+26.7%) and a Peugeot 208 (-47.7%) now anxiously waiting for its 2nd generation. The Tesla Model 3 shoots up 41 spots on May to #6, the first time the star EV breaks into the Danish Top 20, while the VW T-Cross is up 6 ranks to breaks into the Top 10 for the first time at #7.
