Vietnam May 2019: Mitsubishi Xpander misses out on #1 spot for 7 sales in market up 18.7%

The Mitsubishi Xpander has found its market in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese new vehicle market gains a very impressive 18.7% year-on-year in May to 27.373 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 22.7% to 127.329. Toyota (+33%) reclaims the #1 brands spot ahead of Thaco-Kia (-15%) with Mitsubishi (+645.9%) and Ford (+106.8%) in tow, both posting stratospheric gains. Suzuki (+76.4%) and Isuzu (+31.3%) are also in great shape in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Chevrolet (-66.4%) and Hyundai (-47.4%) implode. Over in the models ranking, the Mitsubishi Xpander misses out on its first pole position for just 7 sales at 2.138 vs. 2.145 for the Toyota Vios (-6.2%), followed by the Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner and Ford Ranger.
