Uruguay May 2019: Chevrolet (+51.5%), Peugeot (+49.5%) defy market down -12.1%

Chevrolet soars 51.5% year-on-year in a market down -12.1%

The hecatomb continues for the Uruguyan market at -12.1% in May to just 3.356 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -19.4% to 15.563. Volkswagen (-12.4%) remains on top followed by Fiat (-12.2%) up 3 spots on April to #2 but it’s Renault (-3.4%) that easily stays in the YTD pole position with 15.3% share. Chevrolet (+51.5%), Peugeot (+49.1%) and Toyota (+14.8%) go completely against the grain in the Top 10 with fantastic gains. Outside the Top 10, Chana (+166.7%), Dongfeng (+132.1%), JAC (+56.8%), Great Wall (+53.6%) and Ford (+48.7%) also shine.
