New Caledonia (France) May 2019: Duster helps Dacia up 74.2% in market down -17.2%
The Dacia Duster remains the best-selling vehicle in New Caledonia.
The new light vehicle market in New Caledonia, a French Overseas archipelago located north-east of Australia, dives down -17.2% year-on-year in May to just 515 units, pulling the year-to-date volume down -7.3% to 2.936. Renault (+18.4%) and most strikingly Dacia (+74.2%) swim upstream and deliver spectacular gain to take control of the brands ranking even though Toyota (-42.9%) remains in the YRD lead for now. Hyundai (+35.7%), Mitsubishi (+33.3%), Citroen (+20.5%) and Subaru (+17.4%) also shine in the Top 10. Model-wise, the Dacia Duster enjoys a 4th consecutive month in pole position, cementing its YTD lead with a 7.6% share. It distances the Ford Ranger (-3.2%), Toyota Hilux (-44.2%) and Subaru XV (+91.7%), the latter in outstanding shape.
