Chile May 2019: Chevrolet and Suzuki top market down for 4th consecutive month (-11.7%)

New light vehicle sales in Chile drop for the 4th straight month in May at a steep -11.7% to 31.204 units, leading to a year-to-date volume down -6.1% to 158.574. Chevrolet (-2.3%) and Suzuki (-6.3%) manage to contain their fall to stay on top of the brands ranking, distancing a slew of 5 brands dropping faster than the market: Nissan (-15.5%), Hyundai (-22%), Toyota (-20%), Kia (-13.9%) and Peugeot (-14.2%). In fact there are no gainers in the Top 12, with MG (+62.4%), Changan (+11%), the Great Wall Group (+9%), Subaru (+3.8%) and the Chrysler Group (+2%) the only ones in the Top 20. Chinese brands drop -3.4% year-on-year but improve their share to 14.3%.
