Denmark April 2019: Ford Focus takes the lead in market back down -13.5%
The Ford Focus is the best-selling vehicle in Denmark in April.
After a +33.2% surge last month, the Danish new car market falls back on earth in April at -13.5% to 16.183 units, yet the year-to-date volume remains in record territory at +9% to 82.467. Brand leader Volkswagen (-21.7%) suffers a steep loss but comfortably remains at #1 with 14.6% share whereas Skoda (+24%) and Ford (+9%) both go against the grain with splendid upticks in the remainder of the podium. All remaining Top 10 carmakers entire double-digit declines, with Peugeot (-39.5%), Toyota (-28.9%), Suzuki (-20.4%) and Renault (-19.3%) faring the worst and Audi (-13.5%), Mercedes (-14%) and Citroen (-15.1%) resisting better. In the models ranking, the Ford Focus (+116.9%) more than doubles its sales year-on-year to snap the pole position for the month and is now #9 YTD. The Citroen C3 (+9.8%) and Skoda Octavia (+69.9%) are equal #2 and complete a podium entirely in positive. The Nissan Qashqai (-4.3%) is down 4 spots on March to #5 but holds onto the YTD top spot.
