Chile April 2019: JAC (+54%), Changan (+43.1%), Mitsubishi (+22.4%) defy market down 7.8%

It’s a third consecutive month of decline for Chilean new light vehicle sales with April deliveries down -7.8% to 32.716 leading to a year-to-date volume down -4.6% at 127.370. Chevrolet (-2.3%) resists much better than the market and cements its brands pole position at 9.7%, almost two percentage points above the #2 Suzuki (-12.4%) with Hyundai (-12.1%) rounding up the podium. Nissan (-2.3%) also holds on well at #4 but it’s Mitsubishi (+22.4%) that once again shines the brightest in the Top 10 with the only double-digit gain in there. Ford (+3%) also posts an uptick at #10. Further down, Changan (+43.1%) takes the lead of the Chinese horde both this month and year-to-date, while JAC (+54%), Maxus (+27.6%), the Great Wall Group (+18.8%) and Chery (+11.3%) also make themselves noticed, posting the only other double-digit gains in the Top 25.
