Belgium March 2019: Hyundai, Volvo, Tesla resist in market down 6.1%
Volvo posts the only double-digit gain in the Top 15 in March in Belgium.

New car sales in Belgium skid down 6.1% year-on-year in March to 54.873 units, leading to a year-to-date volume down 5.9% to 155.866. Brand leader Volkswagen (-10.4%) falls faster than the market but hold onto the top spot at 9.7% share, distancing Renault (-1.5%) at 9.1% and Peugeot (-11.9%) at 7.7%. In fact there is only one Top 10 brand up year-on-year: Hyundai (+2.3%), with Ford (-14%), Audi (-10.3%) and BMW (-7.7%) underperforming while Opel (-1.6%) and Mercedes (-4.7%) contain their fall. Further down, Tesla (+210.1%) welcomes the arrival of the Model 3 at #21 while Jeep (+46.5%), DS (+28.9%), Seat (+19.5%), Ferrari (+18.2%), Mitsubishi (+17.8%), Volvo (+12.6%) and Mini (+10.2%) impress with double-digit gains. Model-wise, the VW Golf (+13.8%) holds onto the top spot while the Opel Corsa (+99.9%) majestically doubles its sales year-on-year to leap to #2 overall. The Mercedes A-Class (+97%) and Citroen C3 (+39.3%) also excel.
